Here's a very important thing to remember on Valentine's Day.



Remember that You Are Loved.

It's also important to remember on every other day of the year.





And especially when you are feeling lonely.




If you need someone to love you, there are always at least three people who care about you.

One is Jesus. He loves you and thinks you're amazing.

And then there’s me: I love you.

And, it goes without saying, the penguins on this site adore you.

And before you say “Naw aw,“ there are three of us (four if you include the baby penguin) and only one of you, so there. :-p

Isn't it nice to be loved by a penguin?





Always remember that You Are Loved.

Learning to Glow

As we grow, we begin to glow.

If you haven't learned to glow yet, it's okay.

It takes time.

It takes breathing sunshine and exhaling fresh, pure air.


Let your spirit grow, and you will begin to glow.

Breathe what gives you life.

Thankful For You

Yes, you, dear friend or stranger reading these words.

There are many things to be thankful for, as lovely autumn leaves brighten the trees and walkways, and frost makes everything sparkle.

All of nature is celebrating as they prepare for Christmas. They've been waiting all year.

But today what I'm thankful for is YOU.

I made a picture, and wrote some words, and you have lent me your eyes to look at them for maybe 3 seconds (or more) of your valuable time.

I appreciate that. :-) And I just wanted you to know it.

You have blessed me by reading my words.

I still believe in Fairy Tales

When things get tough, remember that your life is a fairy tale.

Every fairy tale has adventures — journeys and quests and swashbuckling and wild seas and monsters to slay.

It has magical (miraculous) powers given to small and humble orphans, for them to discover that they are princes and princesses — children of The King — to grow up to defeat powerful enemies.

And every fairy tale must have a villain (or thirty-seven thousand of them), but in the end, evil is vanquished, orphans are restored to their places as princes and princesses, and everyone lives happily ever after.

If your life is difficult right now, just remember that your fairy tale isn't over yet.

Hold out for Happily Ever After.

It's a baby seal (not a mutant fish, by the way).

Just something cute to make me smile while I wait for my penguins to return.

Valentine Penguin

It went to the store and bought all the balloons they had...

... but it's running out of flippers for holding them all.

It's waiting expectantly for a chance to give them to you.

It really hopes you'll be its valentine.

Every new year is a journey into the unknown.

You may have your plans charted out. Or they may lie crumpled in a drawer, while you lie in your bunk with the covers over your head.*

But life hoists the sail without your participation, sometimes.

And as you set sail on this new adventure into the future, I declare a blessing over your journey:

You know what's cool about Jesus?

He's the kind of guy who would give you all his presents.

Like you're just sitting there, all alone with no gifts, and he goes, "Hey! You don't have any gifts? I got tons of gifts (because, you know, I'm the Son of God, who's totally a king, and I'm the heir to the throne, plus I actually beat this game, so I have access to Creative Mode and can make gifts appear out of nowhere). So can I give all my gifts to you? I'd really like to, because I think you're amazing!"

That's what Jesus is like.

And guess what you'll find in his presents?

That's right — Joy!
Giddy happiness and forgetting that you were sad.
Fun! Laughter! Sweet, heart-hugging peace.

Because He's that amazing.

Because one of the rules is that when you live a perfect life, you get joy in return. Paradise, a pain-free life, those kinds of things.

That's just how it works.

Now, obviously you and I aren't perfect. We don't always eat our vegetables. We aren't always kind and sweet to people who make us mad (like our parents when we don't eat our vegetables). We don't always get our chores done with a smile.

But Jesus is perfect. And that's why he has all this joy to give away. And he wants to give you his presents, so you can have joy, even though you're not perfect.

And when you have his presents, you will feel as amazing as he thinks you are.

This penguin would like to wish you Happy Birthday!

It's also hoping to be invited to your birthday party, because it heard you're really cool.

And penguins like cool things, like ice cream, and snowflakes, and snow forts...

Thank You

I'd like to thank you for all the things you've done that made someone smile.

It started when you were a tiny baby, warming hearts simply by being the miniature person you were.

But besides merely existing and being cute, there have been times when you saw someone was sad, and you blessed them.

You gave them a hug.
Or a quarter.
Or a piece of your own favorite candy.

That was very noble of you. Thank you.


There was the time when you told that shy kid that the thing they did was cool. You blessed them with your words. Thank you.

Also, when you gave someone a gift that they really, really, really wanted. Thank you for making their eyes sparkle.

Or the the time when you made tea for someone who was ill. Even though they might not have been feeling well enough to smile, they did on the inside.

And what about the time when you sang a silly song, making everyone laugh. Yes. That counts too.

There was also the time when you didn't know what to say, so you just sat beside someone to let them know they weren't alone. Thank you.

But also, that one time when you simply smiled at someone who had a tough day, and they smiled back at you. That's one of the easiest ways to do it.


Thank you for making the world a more beautiful place.

Beloved (Affirmations)

Say this with me:

I am loved.

I am treasured.

I am adored.

I am beloved.

Because you are loved. You are treasured. You are adored.


And even when you feel terribly alone, there is someone tremendously wonderful who calls you "beloved".


His name is Jesus, and he adores you.

And he wants to give you wonderful things:


If you give him your pain, he'll give you joy instead.

If you give him your bitterness, he'll give you sweetness instead.

If you give him your miserable life, he'll fill you with new life, full and bright with possibility.

And a hope and love that make your eyes sparkle.


This is the Jesus I know.

He loves me.

And I know that he loves you, too.

Balloon Penguin

This penguin would like to give you a lovely red balloon to cheer you up, since it heard you were sad lately.

Or at least you frowned a little.

Or maybe you were just pretending not to smile, because you were hoping someone would send you some penguins.
