You Are Loved

Here's a very important thing to remember on Valentine's Day.



Remember that You Are Loved.

It's also important to remember on every other day of the year.





And especially when you are feeling lonely.




If you need someone to love you, there are always at least three people who care about you.

One is Jesus. He loves you and thinks you're amazing.

And then there’s me: I love you.

And, it goes without saying, the penguins on this site adore you.

And before you say “Naw aw,“ there are three of us (four if you include the baby penguin) and only one of you, so there. :-p

Isn't it nice to be loved by a penguin?

Minimalist Seashell

Summer has called me away from the computer, but here are some seashell designs for you to look at.






They might be conch shells.

A conch is a soft, squishy sea creature that creates a beautiful, mathematically-complex shell to live in. When you feel soft and squishy, wrap yourself up in something beautiful to protect your soul.

Learning to Glow

As we grow, we begin to glow.

If you haven't learned to glow yet, it's okay.

It takes time.

It takes breathing sunshine and exhaling fresh, pure air.


Let your spirit grow, and you will begin to glow.

Breathe what gives you life.

Let's Have Tea

Just a cozy design for a grey winter day by the fire.


Let's share a cozy cup of tea together, shall we?

But herbal tea for me. Rooibos, preferably.

Or herbal chai spice with almond milk.

Or that fruity rooibos from that one coffee place, with coconut milk and a dash of caramel stevia.

That is like dessert in a cup.

I wish you a new year filled with light to brighten every dark corner you encounter.

A lantern to guide your steps on the narrow mountain path you are climbing.

Joy and anticipation to brighten your heart at every turn in life's road.

The warmth of peace to fill your lungs with a contented sigh.

Book Cover Art: The Last Sunbeam

I was inspired to test my design skills with a cover for a book that doesn't exist.

So I present to you:

The Last Sunbeam, I'm sure, would have been a compelling steampunk tale of intrigue and mystery.

But alas, it doesn't exist. All we have are these two sentences to pique our curiosity:

"Aria has caught the last rays of sunlight. All the world would kill her for it, if they knew."

Very intrigue. Such mysterious.

Will the world ever know what hasn't happened in this book?

Playing with ocean themes because I haven't made it to the beach this year. :-(

I still believe in Fairy Tales

When things get tough, remember that your life is a fairy tale.

Every fairy tale has adventures — journeys and quests and swashbuckling and wild seas and monsters to slay.

It has magical (miraculous) powers given to small and humble orphans, for them to discover that they are princes and princesses — children of The King — to grow up to defeat powerful enemies.

And every fairy tale must have a villain (or thirty-seven thousand of them), but in the end, evil is vanquished, orphans are restored to their places as princes and princesses, and everyone lives happily ever after.

If your life is difficult right now, just remember that your fairy tale isn't over yet.

Hold out for Happily Ever After.

Green Summer Leaves (Oak)

Just feeling designy and playing around with some fresh, green, summer leaves.

I'll have plenty of fun when I start making brightly-colored autumn leaves.

But only green is allowed right now.

Isn't it astonishing how even on sweltering hot days, the leaves on trees are cool and green?

Oak trees have a very deep root that seeks out water deep inside the earth, to cool and refresh the leaves.

Be like that.

Put your toes in the dirt.

Drink fresh, pure water from deep within the ground.

Have deep roots. Stay anchored.

Heart Bubble

Bubbles are delicate and fragile.

And so are hearts.

Be gentle with the hearts of those you love.

Yellow Umbrella

It's wet out there.

You might need one of these.

It's not just for keeping the rain off — it's a powerful weapon for warding off the darkness.

Walk down the dark, cold, rainy street holding up one of these sunny beacons of hope, and everyone around you will smile.

Unless they are grouchy because they are cold, dark, and rainy, and then you can give it to them!

I'm pretty sure that would make them smile.

Life Can Be Beautiful

Do you have memories of lying in a sunny field of wildflowers, beneath a brilliant blue sky?

If not, you're really missing out and ought to go find a field of wildflowers right now.

(Unless you have pollen allergies, of course.)

This is one of the best places to rest and allow your inner child to breathe.

To think random thoughts.

To feel like a kid again.

Try it; it could change your life.

Or you might at least get a nice nap that you've been needing for a while.

The Princess and The Beach Glass

Just playing with color and translucency — and a stylized concept of sunlight glittering on the edges of sand-worn beach glass.
