Playtime at the Beach (Micropenguin)

Penguins don't have to go to school. They get to play at the beach ALL DAY, making sand castles and playing in the waves.

It's not time to go back to school... I want to go to the beach!

(because penguins don't have to go back to school...)

.   .   .   .   .

You can always have the beach with you if you take some sand home in your shoes.

Minimalist Seashell

Summer has called me away from the computer, but here are some seashell designs for you to look at.
A single, turquoise, minimalist seashell on a white background. Possibly strombidae.

A single, coral, minimalist seashell on a white background. Possibly strombidae.

They might be conch shells.

A conch is a soft, squishy sea creature that creates a beautiful, mathematically-complex shell to live in. When you feel soft and squishy, wrap yourself up in something beautiful to protect your soul.

iva by the sea

iva by the sea, holding a white lily, which symbolizes purity and virtue -- oh wait, is that a tulip?
This is iva, by the sea.

Hold on, I'll be back in a minute.

If I'm gone longer than a minute, stand by.

There are some pressing health concerns that I must attend to, and I don't know what the outcome will be.

In the meantime, here is a portrait of a girl by the sea, who also happens to be named "iva".

Deep-Sea Penguin

Here we have a penguin who has refused to come home from snorkeling on vacation. It has decided to live in the sea with its new friends.

This penguin went snorkeling on vacation and refused to come home.

A warm, tropical sea with fluffy friends that glow is so much more pleasant than the icy waters of Antarctica.

It's going to stay here, with its new friends.

They're its family now.

Jellyfish Love

Two little jellyfish, glowing with love for each other, in the deep turquoise sea.
These jellyfish love each other.

When a sweet, squishy little jellyfish likes you and wants to welcome you, it reaches out to touch you.

It may not realize that its Tentacles of Death can zap you with Skin-Eating Venom until it's too late.

As cute as they are, never try to cuddle a jellyfish.

Jellyfish and human beings (or penguins) are simply not meant to be friends in person.

But we live in a digital world, with instant messaging!

Give a jellyfish a keyboard, and it could chat with you, send you emails, play Minecraft with you, even write you a poem. Add a camera, and it could video-chat with you.

º   º   º

But when two sweet, squishy little jellyfish like each other, they don't sting each other — because they are made of the same stuff.

That's just how life works.

Penguin in Peril

Sometimes you just want to enjoy your ice cream cone on the beach, and color with crayons with your rubber ducky, and an obnoxious seagull comes along and disrupts your entire day. Whatever your seagull is, let it go. But don't let it take your ducky. Distract it with your ice cream. Your ducky is more important than ice cream.

Sometimes you have great plans for relaxing and enjoying your day outdoors — you've got your snack, your best friend, your family-friendly beverages, and something fun to do together —

And something comes along to challenge them.

Like an ornery seagull.

It's in times like this that you might feel slightly dismayed.

I don't have any wise words about what to do in this situation, besides:

  Don't panic.

  Remember to breathe.

You are smarter than the seagull.

You probably have too much ice cream anyway.

  What would MacGyver do?

Don't let him steal your rubber ducky.

Sea You Again Soon

Here are some variations of a punny, ocean-themed sentiment.

With seahorses.

Seahorses and Crushed font

Seahorses with cursive script

Seahorses with Lobster script

These seahorses really miss each other.

Playing with ocean themes because I haven't made it to the beach this year. :-(
